Black Joy Cam serves as a sanctuary for the global celebration and documentation of Black Joy, curated authentically for us, by us.

Black Joy Cam aims to inspire, uplift, and remind everyone of the profound power and significance of joy in the Black experience as it captures images from around the globe.

This initiative goes beyond simply curating a collection of photos and videos; Black Joy Cam is a movement that actively honors and preserves the moments of pure, unfiltered joy that define, celebrate, and empower Black lives.

LIVE: In Color

Throughout 2024, Photographer, Filmmaker and Master Storyteller Johnny J. Jones is embarking on a journey across North America to intimately photograph the vibrancy, expansiveness and of Black Joy.

Select photographs will then be on display as part of Black Joy Cam’s inaugural photo exhibit, LIVE: In Color, hosted at The Building in New Orleans with the Opening Reception happening Saturday, December 7th at 6pm.
